| 抄録(和) | ラビングした高分子配向膜上の液晶分子の配向機構に関して様々な研究報告がなされているが、いまだに十分に明らかになっていない。本研究ではFT-IR法を用いて赤外吸収異方性を測定することにより、配向膜表面の液晶のオーダーパラメータを決定し、ラビング強度と表面のオーダーパラメータの関係を求めた。その結果、筆者らはははじめて液晶のオーダーパラメータは表面に近づくにつれて減少し、表面ではラビング強度が十分大きくてもバルクに比べて著しく低いことを明らかにした。 |
| 抄録(英) | The rubbed polymer films are widely used in practice, while its alignment mechanism has not yet been sufficiently clarified. In this work, we determined the order parameters of liquid crystal as a function of distance from the surface to the bulk by using FT-IR method. We heve also investigated the relation between the rubbing strengths and the surface order parameters. From the result, we first clarified that the order parameter of the liquid crystal remarkably decreases with approaching to the surface. In addition, the order parameter at the surface was found to be surprisingly low even if the rubbing treatments are strong enough. |
