Positive column cell PDP and its DC mode memory driving

Abstract(in English) It is well known fact that a high-luminous efficiency is available if a DC PDP positive column cells can be operated in low current region. But some trials are failed because of difficulties on the operation. This report describes a new positive column cell PDP which has a high efficiency in the operation. A cell has a cathode faced perpendicular to the discharge pass which is parallel to the from and rear glasses. This PDP is drived in DC-mode memory methods. A TV picture is displayed on the PDP. DC mode memory method is useful for avoiding false outline disturbance in moving picture.
