Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We optimize the curing condition of UV curable liquid crystal (LC) to improve the transmittance after polymerization. The cured LC microlens and optical waveguide are fabricated using the UV curable LC under the optimized curing condition and their optical performances are confirmed. Relatively good focusing properties can be obtained in the cured LC microlens. A scattering loss is estimated to be 23 dB/cm in the cured optical waveguide.
