Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Video moire patterns frequently appear on high-resolution CRTs as a result of interference between the video signal pitch and shadow mask aperture pitch. The moire deteriorates CRT picture quality significantly and must be reduced. The video moire patterns are successfully reproduced by simulating a small-scale luminance distribution and also by taking into consideration the visual characteristics of human eyes. Moire visibility is quantitatively evaluated by a use of moire contrast.
