Abstract(in English) New driving method using Additional Drive Pulses has been developed to improve the luminance of EL panels. All row lines of the EL panel are driven by a pair of symmetric drive pulses at the same time, after each row line is driven by scanning Push-Pull drive pulses. We have examined this method for 9inch diagonal 640×400 ZnS:Mn thin film EL panels, but the experiment was failure. This is due to the result that all-on mode in row driver IC's but the experiment was failure. This is due to the result that all-on mode in row driver IC's with SCR switch is unreliable. To utilize this driving method, new row driver IC's, which can be used in all-on mode, have to be developed.
