Photo-alignment Control of FLCs using Photo-dimorization Reaction

Abstract(in English) A photo-alignment method is applied to orient ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs), and the alignment properties of the FLCs are studied comparing with those of FLCs aligned by a rubbing method. The results show higher contrast of photo-aligned FLCs than that of a rubber FLC cell due to the better alignment uniformity.
