| Abstract(in English) | First, major metrics for characterizing and evaluating LCDs are introduced. Then the birth, the past growth, and the current status of LCDs are discussed by focusing on direct view type-, projection type-, and reflective type-LCDs based on the above mentioned major metrics. Further we discuss the current problems in LCD technology and the resolutions for these problems. Finally, the future aspects are discussed. |
