Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A sector antenna achieves the reduction of multipath fading and interference in a broadband wireless communication. However, a small planar sector antenna for a mobile terminal has not been presented. In this paper, a small-sized planar 6-sector antenna employing patch-Yagi-Uda array with common directors for mobile terminals is proposed. From the analysis of the effect of the common director, it is found that F/B ratio and effect to the radiation pattern from the cross array can be improved by changing the terminal impedance of inactive exciting elements. From fabrication and testing of the 6-sector antenna employing line arrays with three parasitic elements, a good 60 degrees beamwidth and an antenna size reduction by a factor of 1/4 are shown.
