On Calibration of Direction-of-Arrival Estimation With an Antenna Array

Abstract(in English) Recently, superresolution techniques have become indispensable methods for high resolution Direction-of-Arrival(DOA)estimation with an antenna array. Among them, we adopt MUSIC algorithm for basic calibration studies. The MUSIC can resolve closely spaced incident waves, however, it is often difficult to estimate DOA correctly due to mutual coupling, amplitude and gain error of array elements. In this report, we examine DOA estimation error due to array uncertainties, and verify calibration performance of the method proposed by B.Friedlander. Furthermore, we show calibration performance can be improved with a little modification. The proposed modification is verified by computer simulations.
