抄録(英) | A small wireless terminal antenna with half wavelength has superior performance than the one with different length from half wavelength. However, as the terminal size becomes small, antenna length is also required to be short and some proposes to make the antenna length short have been reported. To achieve these purposes successfully, it is necessary to understand well the physical phenomena of the antenna. This paper proposes a straight wire model to investigate principally and generally the physical behavior of a small wireless terminal antenna with a rectangular metal housing box and shows the validity of the proposed model by calculated results. By using this model, relations between antenna structures and characteristics like current distributions and radiation patterns are studied and it is pointed out that the phase distribution on the antenna plays significant role to determine the radiation pattern. Approximate formulas for the current were also derived and used to present general results for understandings of the small wireless terminal antenna. |
