Laboratory Experiments on Coherent Rake Receiver Using Fast Transmit Power Control in Braodband DS-CDMA Mobile Radio

Abstract(in English) This paper experimentally evaluated the bit error rate (BER) performance of single-carrier broadband DS-CDMA(B-CDMA) access scheme using a 100 MHz bandwidth applying SIR measurement-based fast transmission power control (TPC) by laboratory experiments using a multipath fading simulator. The achievable information bit rate is 20.36(2.5) Mbps when the spreading factor is SF=4(32). Exerimental results demonstrated that by applying fast TPC, the required average transmit E_b / N_0 at the average BER of 10^<-6> with antenna diversity can be reduced by approximately 7 dB compared to that in the case without fast TPC. It was also shown that the average BER of 10^<-6> of 20.36(2.5) Mbps ransmission wa achieved at the average transmit E_b / N_0 of approximately 6.7(5.0) dB with antenna diversity when L=2 and f_D=20 H. Morever, 2.5 Mbps transmission with average BER below 10^<-6> can be achieved with antenna diveristy in multipath fading channels up to 12 paths, which indicates that the Rake path diversity and fast TPC effectively works in a broadband propagation channels.
