Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a compact sector antenna that adopts omni-directional characteristics by using a vertical dipole antenna and selectable parasitic elements. The advatage of this antenna is that it does not need a ground plane and the current distribution loss of the switch circuit on the parasitic element can be suppressed because the switch circuit is placed off-center of the parasitic element. A prototype sector antenna the diameter of which is 15mm and the height of which is 35mm at 5.0 GHz, is manufactured andthe measured results are good agreement with the simulation results.
