Abstract(in English) An array of transverse slot antennas cut on the corner of a triangular waveguide is proposed for a base station in millimeter-wave subscriber radio system. The bent slot with an interior angle of 60 degrees provides a 120-degree beamwidth in the horizontal plane for the three-sector system. In principle, metal waveguide has a quite small transmission loss in comparison with a coaxial line and a microstrip line especially in millimeter wave. The slot array can synthesize a radiation pattern not to radiate in undesired direction in the vertical plane. The internal field distributions in the triangular waveguides are analyzed. For the enhancement of the field intensity, a metal wall is inserted from the back side in the triangular waveguide. The far field pattern with about 120-degree beamwidth and sufficient coupling of 50% are obtained at 12GHz band experimentally.
