Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A size reduction of passive devices is a key technology for a large-scale and cost-effective MMICs. From this point of view, the present paper treats 180° and 90° lumped-element hybrids by the use of an invariant and an equivalent impedance (admittance) for symmetric lossless reciprocal 4-port circuits, systematically and analytically. We show various concrete circuit-constructions consisting of unbalanced lines, balanced lines and / or a phase inverter, and their frequency properties, and mention essential factors leading to a limited bandwidth and an unbalanced power-division. As a result, several interesting circuit structures are suggested, i.e., an unbalanced line 180° hybrid with a phase inverter posseses about one octave bandwidth, an unbalanced line 90° hybrid with external matching networks exhibits a very flat coupling over a fractional bandwidth of 26%, and the bandwidth ratio of a balanced line 180° hybrid reaches 1.76 octaves.
