Mechanism of Operation for an Open-Ended Resonator and Its Application to a Micowave Filter

Abstract(in English) The aim of this paper is to study the mechanism of operation for the various type open-ended resonator and its application to a microwave filter. Firstly, the reasonance property of the basic open-ended resonator and an intrinsic property of this resonator under the use of a tap-feed are discussed. The transmission zero can be obtained by the open-ended resonator with tap-feed without complex mechanism. In our study, mechanism of the operation for the resonator is elucidated based on the even- and odd-mode analysis of symmetrical circuits. Secondly, the basic property of the open-ended resonator with impedance step and loaded-element type resonator and their application to filter responses such as improvement of spurious responses and realization of the dual-band characteristics are studied theoretically here.
