Abstract(in English) In the numerical analyses of scattering by an infinite periodic array(plane grating), a thin dielectric grating layer is assumed to have zero thickness and replaced by a resistive plane gratings.The spectral Galerkin procedure is a popular method for plane gratings, since the numerical acceptable solutions can be obtained in a small number of current expansions by using the resistive boundary.In this report, a numerical approach for thin metallic gratings and the spectral Galerkin procedure for plane metallic gratings are formulated for the same analytic model.For the sake of direct investigations about the limits of thickness in applicability of the resistive boundary, some numerical results of the errors are shown.
