A Design of Polarization Converter and the Effect of Higher-order Mode

Abstract(in English) As a 2-layer polarization converter for planar antenna,we propose a periodic dipole array and a parallel grid in this paper. Spectral domain approach is applied to analyse and design the polarization converter.For both models,we have got reflection less than -20dB and XPD more than 25dB in 2.5% bandwidth.Furthermore the higher-order mode power is calculated to estimate the critical thickness of the polarizer or the distance between the polarizer and the antenna for dominant mode approximation.
