Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A multibeam array antenna(MBAA)consisting of an array of antennas and a beam forming network(BFN)would be suitable as a directivity diversity antenna because of orthogonalities existing between the beams. This paper describes an architecture of 8 ports planar MBAA,which is mainly a procedure for feeding a planar array of antennas using Butler Matrix, then the radiation properties both in theory and mesurement, and finally an experiment on diversity reception inside a room. The effectiveness of this directivity diversity antenna has been verified.
