Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cross-borehole radar measures an underground geometrical profile using two anntennas placed in different vertical borehole. An FM-CW radar system is employed in this study to obtain the first travel time which is mecessary to reconstruct profile. The FD-TD method is used to determine curved ray-path in the calculation.A field measurement was successfully carried out to map a buried object in snowpack of 220 cm deep at Yamakoshi village,Niigata prefecture,to verify the theoretical results.
