Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Rapid changes in depolarization of twelve thunderstorm events which have been obtained from the CS-3 beacon signal(19.45 GHz, RHCP)for the past four years are compared with time and location of lightning strokes around our site.Nearly half of the rapid changes are,for the first time, found to coincide with the moment of lightning strokes, which occurred on the south side of the site at the distance around 4-12 km.The mean canting angle of ice crystals seems to increase clockwise before lightnings seen from the satellite and to return rapidly to horizontal direction with the discharge.
