Measurement of Radiation Efficiency of Pager's Small Loop Antenna

Abstract(in English) Poor radiation efficiency is sufficient disadvantage of the loop antennas used in the pagers. It has been pointed out that decrease of radiation efficiency is mainly caused by the copper losses of the antenna from the study of the relation between the conductivity of copper and radiation efficiecy. Further investigations, however, clearly shown, that radiation efficiency of the antenna strongly depends on the losses of the capacitor being a part of impedance matching circuit of the jpager. In our opinion, study on the relation between the Q-factor of the capacitor and radiation efficiency of the antenna is point of great interest. In the present report measurements of radiation efficiency of the small loop antenna of the pager are carried out by means of the pattern integration method, and results on the relation between the Q-factor of the capacitor and radiation efficiency of the antenna are presented.
