Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Relation between polarimetric backscattering characteristics and surface roughness is studied on the surface scattering.Complete polarization properties of random surfaces are measured using a C- band multipolarization scatterometer. To realize ideal surface scattering, target surfaces are made of chemical clay mixed with metal powder.Measurements are made on seven targets with different roughness parameters, and property of each target are analyzed from the angle of unpolarized and polarized components or ratio of these. As a result,it is revealed that difference of scattering property between two target groups is due to that of scattering process, and that the ratio of the two components has correlation with the roughness of surface.
