Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examine a beam field radiated by a whispering gallery mode which is incident on the aperture of a cylindrical concave boundary.By extending the angular domain to -∞ φ ∞ and model ing the concave boundary as the surface ρ = a extending from φ= 0 to φ=-∞,the field representation can be obtained explicitly by F ourier transform and the Wiener-Hopf technique.Asymptotic analysis of the integral yields the beam field representation consisting of the geometrical ray and edge diffracted wave.We show that the beam field representation derived in this paper agrees very well with the results obtained from the Fresnel-Kirchhoff formula and the modal ray tracing technique.
