Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, wireless LAN is increasingly utilized as an alternative link method, and it is expected that its research and development would gain even greater attention. It is well known that radio environments in the wireless LAN are characterized by multipath propagation. In order to realize a system of high reliability, we need to understand the details of the multipath wave behavior. In particular, the delay time estimation for indoor multipath waves requires high resolution in the order of several nanoseconds. For this purpose, it has been proposed that MUSIC and ESPRIT algorithms which are based on eigenstructure methods can be applied to signal parameter estimation. This is because these two algorithms have super resolution. However, they are much affected by the internal noise of the receiver. Also a low SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) may cause some errors in the estimates and reduce drastically the resolution of delay times. In this paper, a technique applying a time-domain filter to MUSIC is presented so as to enhance the estimation accuracy and resolution of the delay time.
