Moment Method Analysis of Monopole Antenna Mounted near the Edge of a Conducting Plane

Abstract(in English) When a problem of a wire antenna in the vicinity of the edge of a finite ground plane is analyzed by using the moment method, a wire/plate-junction segment has to be incorporated. However, the size of the junction segment is limited to be less than 0.1 wavelength. In this report, a joint patch segment is proposed to overcome this difficulty. Further now, the joint patch segment is divided into 8 segments to incorporate a variation of current distribution with respect to the azimuth direction. An analysis of a monopole antenna mounted near the edge of conducting plane with finite size is performed and the results are compared with experimental data confirming the validity of the present analysis.
