Aeronautical Low-profile Yagi-Uda Antennas

Abstract(in English) This paper describes low-profile Yagi-Uda antennas which are constructed by a driven inverted-F antenna and two parasitic inverted-L antennas. The shape of this antenna intends to use for SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) antennas which are equipped on an airplane. The wire type of this antenna is analyzed by moment method, on the other hand the print type of this antenna is analyzed by FD-TD method. The wire type has Gd/Gr=18.1dB, Gd=8.3dBi, bandwidth (defined by VSWR=2)=9.6%, with the dimension of 0.08λ (height)×0.51λ (length), where Gd and Gr denote gain of director and reflector way, respectively. Also, it is shown that the print type which is constructed by a dielectric substrate (εr=1.7) is analogous with the wire type in the electrical performance.
