Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a satellite laser communication system, named high-speed optical feeder link. It is based on the application of (a) high-speed optical devices, which have been developed for ground-based high-speed fiber optic communication, and (b) the adaptive optics which compensates atmospheric turbulence effect based on a real time feedback control. A link budget study shows that 10 Gbps are available assuming state-of-the-art device performance of the Er-doped fiber amplifier. Preliminary measurement results of the atmospheric turbulence at the telescope site in Tokyo are also reported.
