Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel peak-to-average power (PAP) reduction technique for broadband wireless OFDM systems. The proposed technique detects the envelope-peak amplitude on a block-by-block basis, and if the detected envelope-peak amplitude exceeds an upper-limit amplitude, the entire part of the corresponding block is divided by a constant to make the renewed peak amplitude equal to the allowed upper limit. Holding the linearity of the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) outputs, the proposed technique can be beneficially coupled with an out-of-band spectrum suppression technique using time-domain shaping. By doing this, the PAP reduction and out-of-band spectrum suppression can be achieved through simple baseband digital processing.
