Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Parabolic cylindrical reflectors and plate dielectric lenses between parallel conductor plates are used for generating equi-phase line sources to feed parallel plate slot array antennas. These reflectors and lenses are needed point sources on their focal points defined under the geometrical optics. Actually, however, their sources are H-plane sectoral horns whose apertures are several wavelengths. Therefore it is indispensable to determine the phase centers of the horns in order to operate them as nearly as possible under the geometrical optics. In this paper, a method to determine the phase centers is proposed and a design chart by the method is presented. The method is examined numerically and experimentally about its level of approximation and its operating characteristics. The way proposed is ascertained to be a practical one.
