Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We show two types of switch architectures, which can provide good scalability for increase of traffic, for a large-capacity optical cross-connect in backbone network. One is a modular wavelength switch and the other is a wavelength grouping switch. Compared to a conventional wavelength switch, though the required wavelength resources increase in the two switch architectures, they can reduce the hardware size remarkably. Then, we compare the hardware size of the two switch architectures considering the optical device technologies.
