Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In IP over ATM network, an output buffered ATM switch is proposed as a VC-merge capable ATM switch. However in that switch model, output buffer which need high speed memory access is divided into the number of switch size. Therefore that switch model is not suitable to achieve large scalability. In this paper, we propose VC-merge capable ATM switch with input and output buffers. In the proposed model, we divide input buffer into the number of VC, and output buffer uses FIFO buffer. The proposed model is scalable and efficient. By computer simulations, we evaluate the cell loss probability and packet loss probability of the proposed model with two kinds of packet size, long packet and short packet. As a result, we show the cells are lost in packet unit.
