Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For ATM and Internet, finite buffer MMPP/G/1(m)model is useful for performance evaluation, but its exact solution requires a lot of computer time. In this paper methods are proposed for approximating bursty traffic by the ON-OFF model, which is identified by MMPP and correlatd hyper exponential distribution. Using infinite buffer MMPP/G/1 and exponential service time MMPP/M/1(m)models, approximate performance evaluation is proposed for MMPP/G/1(m). Applying these methods, performance for bursty traffic in the ATM and Internet is efficiently evaluated.
