Prevention of Misconnection in an MS Shared Protection Ring Network

Abstract(in English) When the line failure is protected by ring protection switching in an MS shared protection ring network, temporary misconnection might happen while executing ring switching. Because the timing of the switching was changed for the transmission delay depending on the physical length of the trail or processing time of APS bytes. In order to prevent this misconnection, the extra traffic request code is added to APS byte. And the method of evading misconnection is examined. This method using this code can evade the misconnection when extra traffic is re-inserted.
