Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a new QoS control architecture in the Internet, the Differentiated Services (Diffserv) is expected to achieve differentiation of aggregated flows. In order to provide end-to-end service differentiation, broadband access networks based on ATM, should support the Diffserv as well as the backbone networks. We proposed an IP-aware priority control to realize the Diffserv over ATM. Snooping the DSCP (Diffserv Code Point) from the IP header in a ATM cell, service differentiation was provided under a single VC with aggregated IP priorities condition. We carried out performance evaluation with our prototype circuit and clarified the difference between the Diffserv over ATM proposed in the ATM-Forum.
