Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical signal quality monitoring is one of the urgent problems to be solved in realizing optical networks. We have proposed a novel optical signal quality monitoring method in optical transmission systems that uses the sampling method and evaluates averaged Q-factor with amplitude histograms. We have confirmed applicability of this method for optical signals influenced by chromatic dispersion in transmission fiber. We have also discussed fault detection in optical network systems with this method.
