Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper analyzes theoretically the fading suppression effect under a combining diversity technique applying MMSE criteria. The theory derives analytically the combined CNR of the received signals and the average error rate for two and three branches. First, a correlation matrix between branches is derived in an angle spread environment where incident angle distribution is assumed to be Gaussian. Next, the theory derives strictly the eigenvalue expression of the correlation matrix for less than 3 branches. The result shows that eigenvalues can be expressed explicitly by the antenna element spacing, the angle of arrivals, and the angle spread. Substituting the analytical expression of the eigenvalues into the probability density function, the cumulative distribution function, and the average error rate equations, the actual diversity performance can be calculated. In this paper these values had been calculated for the case of three branch diversity.
