Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the network architecture for the next generation mobile communications network. The architecture has to fulfill requirements such as service portability, application of IN, and support of ISDN services. The functional network architecture is described based on the discussion on protocol reference model. The architecture consists of two planes:C-Plane for functions related to communication setup, release, and so on and RRM-Plane for functions to select and allocate radio resource,i.e.radio channel. Examples of infonmtion flows for call origination, termination, and teminallocationregistration are described using the architecture.
