Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents functional test methods for self routing switch including line units in an ATM Switching System.Since the ATM Switching System handles many kinds of virtual paths and virtual channels in its line units,it is required to test each corresponding channels′ connectivity in the switch. It is also requ ired to test line units under the condition that test cells are transferred in a maximum transmission speed defined in line units. We propose function test methods using test calls which periodically pass through the predetermined switching path route in the ATM switching system. The route is performed by test cell folding back mechanism prepared in line units, and test cells check many functions for every channel in a same rapidity as a maximum speed of them.Using this method,it is also possible to verify stability of line units in the ATM switching system.
