Abstract(in English) An ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)technology has been developed and standardized for the future Broadband ISDN,and is now being applied to local area networks which can support multimedia communications including high speed data transfer and motion video. In this paper,we evaluate the performance of the traffic control method suitable to ″bursty″ traffic,which uses FRP(Fast Reservati on Protocol).Through numerical evaluation,we will show the appropriate set of the traffic descriptor to obtain high performance in both light and heavy traffic load conditions.
