Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is growing interest in building ATM based "ATM LAN".The mo st significant advantages of the ATM LAN are quality of service control capability for handling multimedia services and bandwidth scalability that overcomes the limitation of the conventional shared media LANs such as Ethernet. The ATM technology has been mainly studied for Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network(B- ISDN).On the other hand,LAN requires different traffic control schemes from that for the public networks, because it is managed by private organizations and the network size is relatively small. This paper shows the evaluation results of the reactive control in the ATM LAN.
