Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The recent progress of B-ISDN signalign systems has enabled network to handle calls which require a wide variety of ATM connection sets. This paper is mainly concerned with the B-ISDN link which handles calls requesting asymmetric forward and backward multi-connections with bandwidth negotiation and reservation.A model of the loss system in first established focusing on the call level characteristics of the link, then a method based on the reduced load approximation and knapsack approximation techniques is proposed for calculating the approximate blocking probabilities. The accuracy of the approximation method is evaluated numerically by comparing with an exact method and simulation.
