Characterization of Table Renewal in GMS for Regional Computer Communication Network System

Abstract(in English) We have developed a regional computer communication network system that provides PC (Personal Computer) communication service to residential customers and small business users economically. The Group Management Server (GMS) manages user information and network facilities as one entity, and creates packet filtering table for group communication service. The GMS is required to dynamically update the filtering table in a short time because users are expected to join and leave the system on a daily basis. This paper describes the characteristics of filtering table renewal time in GMS. We led equations to estimate renewal time with an existing method and a newly proposed method called group pattem method, and confirmed that the group pattern method is effective to shorten the renewal time. Finally, the system employ conditions are clarified taking into account the table renewal time of group pattern method.
