Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) WDM broadcast-and-select systems are suitable for multimedia communication containing large-scale high-bandwidth multicast. In this paper the capacity of the system using oplical wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and electrical time-division multiplexing (TDM) is extendcd to 80 Gbit/s (2.5 Gbit/s×32 wavelengths). Also basic configuration of its controller subsystem is fabrieated. With the controller subsystem, this system enables both connection-oriented and connectionless communications effectively. The controller subsystem adds/drops specific packets from the streams between terminals and the remote station (RS).
