Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As numerous proposals and practical examples appear for a new generation of systems based on component or distributed object technologies, such as JavaBeans and CORBA/JavaSpaces, there is also a move to incorporate intelligent and distributed agent technology. This paper introduces CASA (Common Agent System Architecture), a new distributed agent system architecture with concepts of "substantial agent" of "structural agent" that can provide a social infrastructure for agents on a distributed object network based on the same human authorities of individuals and organizations and the same social structure as in real society. It simplifies "natural" and "reliable" electronic social and economic activities based on "common knowledge/common sense" and "certification/responsibility" in the real world. This paper discuss what should be focused on and formalized for the social architecture to organize disltributed objects as a CASA conceptual model and also gives a brief overview of a design and implementation that we are developing.
