Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fibre Channel(FC) standardized by ANSI has been applied as a popular high speed input/output channel for workstations, peripherals, etc.. It provides the data communications with 1Gbps transmission rate at distance up to 10km. IWU(Inter-working unit)between FC switch(Fabric)and the wide area network like ATM establishes communications between FC hosts and the remote hosts across the network. To gurantee the quality of service (QoS)of the communication, we propose a bandwidth control scheme using Class 1 service (connection-oriented)for the applications which use RSVP (Resource reservation protocol) and a ACK scheduling scheme using Class 2 service (connection-less with ACK)for the applications which do not use RSVP.
