Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses a multicast ATM switch using copy-trunk function. At first, two kinds of copy mechanisms are compared from the viewpoint of delay characteristics. One is the mechanism copying a multicast cell to be the desired number of cells at one time. The other is the mechanism coping a multicast to be limited number of cells, eg.2, at one time. The analysis says that the honor one has better delay characteristics under the condition of large copy number and high offered load of multicast cells. Next, this paper proposes some QoS control mechanisms so as to reduce CDV of CBR traffic and avoid generating bursty traffic in core switch. Finally simple method of increasing the copy number is proposed.
