Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses traffic shaping for an ATM interface of ATM terminal equipment.Buffering mechanisms sharing a buffer for ATM adaptation function with traffic shaping function were presented. Three types of linked list buffer, having different unit buffer sizes;(1)cell length,(2)maximum PDU length,(3)fixed bank size, were considered.Amounts of hardware were compared in terms of;(1)the number of PDU,(2)distribution of PDU size,(3)maximum PDU size,(4) the number of connection,(5)bank size. The suitable method depends on access mode;telnet terminal, file transfer, etc.
