Abstract(in English) In optical cross-connect nodes of the wavelength division multiplexing optical communication system, a optical highway switch than can route individual wavelength to different destinations is required. In this report we propose wavelength sorting elements and optical highway switch architectures using these elements. The wavelength sorting element is a kind of a wavelength router which sorts out wavelengths fed into multiple input ports.
