Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The author proposes a variable threshold cell discarding regulator which controls its threshold so as to minimize the expected value of the evaluation function. However the regulator is stable and the cell loss ratio of high priority cells is not affected by the load fluctuations, it needs a large number of calculations. In this paper, we deduce the explicit function of threshold for state variables, and we show that the control algorithm requires only a addition and a subtraction and two table searches and two table lookups and two bitsifts and a comparison. It is also shown that the regulator has robustness if the load fluctuations satisfy some conditions and it is superior to the pushout method.
