A Study on ATM Multiplexer with QoS control

Abstract(in English) Many services that require various QoS (Quality of Service) share an ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network, e.g., audio, video, IP datagram, etc. In this paper, we propose priority queuing strategy that control those QoS's by setting a threshold on the length of waiting queue of cells in an ATM switch. A QoS is mainly composed of requirements for the delay time and the cell loss ratio. By using the proposed strategy, we can control mean delay time and cell loss ratio separately to realize an efficient ATM multiplexer.
